BAG:
1ST ROW: Ch 76. Sk 1 ch, work 1 sc in each ch st on both sides of ch [150 sts].
1ST ROW: Ch 76. Sk 1 ch, work 1 sc in each ch st on both sides of ch [150 sts].
2ND
ROW: Ch 3, work 4 dc in first st, * sk 4
sc, work 5 dc in next st; rep from * for 1 rnd [30 shells]. Join with sl st.
3RD
ROW: Working rnd & rnd, rep 2nd
row, working shell sts in first st of shell of prev row.
Rep
3rd row until piece meas 7” from ch st row. Fasten off.
EDGING:
1ST ROW: * Ch 5, work 1 sc in first dc of prev row, sk 4 dc; rep from * around entire opening.
1ST ROW: * Ch 5, work 1 sc in first dc of prev row, sk 4 dc; rep from * around entire opening.
2ND
ROW: Work 12 sc over each lp of ch 5 on
1st row.
HANDLE
TABS:
Ch 7, turn, sk first ch, * work 1 sc in each of next 6 ch sts.
Ch 7, turn, sk first ch, * work 1 sc in each of next 6 ch sts.
Ch
1, turn; rep from * working into sc instead of ch sts, for 3”.
Make
4 pieces.
Join
to handles & sew to bag as shown in photo.
MISS
JULIA’S PURSE LINING NOTES:
[Before
joining finished pattern pieces]
Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces & lay aside to be used later.
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper [if desired].
Attach
ornament to zipper pull tab [if desired].
Note: Cardboard
or lightweight plastic may be inserted between 2 layers of lining & bag to
give shape extra support.
