Vintage Cottage Rose Crochet Doily

A clever woman very quickly & easily will crochet this exquisite doily in a delightful pattern…which will become a personal favorite to keep or gift to that special person!

SIZE: 
8” diameter

MATERIALS: 
Crochet Cotton, 1 ball each of white, green, pink, & yellow
#7 Steel Crochet Hook

ROSE: 
With Yellow ch 5, join to form ring, ch 5, dc in ring, * ch 2, dc in ring, rep from * 3 times, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch, cut thread.  Attach Pink in lp, 1 sc, 5 dc, 1 sc in same sp, * 1 sc, 5 dc, 1 sc in next lp, rep from * 4 times, join.

NEXT RND:  * Ch 5, sl st in back of work bet next 2 petals, rep from * 5 times.

NEXT RND:  Over each lp work 1 sc, 7 dc, 1 sc, join.

NEXT RND:  * Ch 7, sl st in back of work bet next 2 petals, rep from * all around.

NEXT RND:  Over each lp work 1 sc, 2 dc, 5 trc, 2 dc, 1 sc, join, cut thread. 

Work 9 more roses in same manner.

CENTER: 
With White ch 7, join to form ring, ch 1 & work 10 sc in ring, join.

2ND RND:  Ch 3, 2 dc in same sp keep last lp of each dc on hk, yo & pull thru all lps at one time, * ch 3, cluster st in next sc (cluster st: 3 dc in same sp keep last lp of each dc on hk, yo & pull thru all lps at one time), rep from * 8 times, ch 3, join.

3RD RND:  * Ch 4, sc in next lp, ch 4, sc in next cluster st, rep from * all around (20 lps).

4TH RND:  Sl st into lp, * ch 4, sc in next lp, rep from * all around end with ch 1, dc in same sp as beg (this brings thread in position for next rnd).

5TH RND:  Ch 3 (counts as part of 1st cluster st), cluster st in same sp, * ch 4, sc in next lp, ch 4, cluster st in next lp, rep from * all around end with ch 4, sc in next lp, ch 4, join in 1st cluster st.

6TH RND:  Sl st into lp, * ch 5, sc in next lp, rep form * all around.

7TH RND:  Sl st into lp, ch 3, cluster st in same sp, * ch 5, 2 sc in next lp, ch 5, cluster st in next lp, rep from * all around end with ch 5, 2 sc in next lp, ch 5, join.

8TH RND:  Sl st into lp, ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, * ch 7, 2 sc in next lp, rep from * all around end with ch 3, trc in 1st sc.

9TH RND:  Ch 3, cluster st in same sp, ch 5, cluster st in same sp, * ch 1, 2 cluster sts with ch 5 bet in next lp, rep from * all around, ch 1, join, cut thread.

10TH RND:  Attach Green in ch 1 bet cluster sts, ch 4, cluster st in next ch 5 lp, ch 1, sc in center st of any petal of rose, * ch 1, cluster st in same sp on center, ch 4, sc in ch 1 bet next 2 cluster sts, ch 4, cluster st in next ch 5 lp, ch 1, sc in center st of next petal of same rose, ch 1, cluster st in same sp on center, ch 4, sc in next ch 1 lp bet next 2 cluster sts, ch 4, cluster st in next ch 5 lp, ch 1, join to center st of any petal of next rose, rep from * until all roses are joined end to correspond, join, cut thread.

LEAF: 
With Green ch 11, sc in 2nd st from hk, 1 sc in each of next 8 sts of ch, 3 sc in last st, work on other side of ch, 1 sc in each of next 8 sts.

2ND ROW:  Ch 2, turn, work thru back lp of sts only, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc. 

Rep 2nd row 5 times.

NEXT RND:  Ch 1, turn, join to center st of 2nd free petal on right hand side of any rose (to join:  drop lp from hk, insert in petal, pick up lp & pull thru), sk 1 sc on leaf & work thru back lp of sts only, 1 sc in each of next 9 sc, join to center st of next free petal of same rose, sc in same sp on leaf, join to center st of 1st free petal on left hand side of next rose, sc in same sp on leaf, 1 sc in each of next 8 sc, join to center st of next petal of same rose, ch 1, sc in next sc on leaf, cut thread. 

Work 9 more leaves joining bet roses in same manner.
