Free Pattern - Vintage Mum Pillow to Crochet

Vintage Mum Pillow

MATERIALS:
American Thread Co, Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn
4 - 70 yds skeins Light Rose
1 - 70 yds skein each Old Rose, Orange & Fern Green
Aluminum Crochet Hook Size H
½ yds Lining Material
Shredded Foam Rubber or Kapok

GAUGE:
3 sts = 1"

FRONT:
With Orange ch 2, 8 sc in 1st ch, do not join. 

2nd RND: * Ch 3, sl st in front lp of next sc, rep from * to end of rd (8-ch 3 lps). 

3rd RND: 2 sc in back lp of each sc (16 sc). 

4th RND: Rep 2nd rnd, (16 lps) cut yarn. 

5th RND: Attach Old Rose, 2 sc in back lp of each sc (32 sc). 

6th RND: * Ch 7, 1 sc in 2nd st from hk, 1 sc in next ch, 1 sdc in each of next 2 ch (sdc - yo hk, insert in st, pull lp thru, yo & pull thru all lps at 1 time), 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, sk 1 sc, sl st in front lp of next sc, rep from * to end of rnd (16 petals). 

7th RND: 1 sc in back lp of each sc. 

Repeat last 2 rnds twice. 

12th RND: Work in back lps, * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, rep from * to last 2 sc, sc in each sc (42 sc), cut yarn. 

13th RND: Attach Lt. Rose, * ch 8, 1 sc in 2nd st from hk, 1 sc in next ch, 1 sdc in each of next 3 ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, sk 1 sc, sl st in front lp of next sc, rep from * to end of rnd (21 petals). 

NOTE:
All petal rnds are worked in front lps only, & all sc rnds are worked in back lps. 

14th RND: * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * all around (63 sc). 

15th RND: 1 sc in each sc. 

16th RND: Rep 13th rnd, but sk 2 sc. 

17th RND: * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, rep from * all around (84 sc). 

18th RND: 1 sc in each sc. 

19th RND: Rep 16th rnd (28 petals). 

20th & 21st RNDS: 1 sc in each sc. 

22nd RND: Rep 16th rnd.

23rd RND: 1 sc in each sc. 

24th RND: Rep 16th rnd. 

25th RND: 1 sc in each sc, cut Light Rose. 

26th RND: Attach Fern Green, 1 sc in each sc, join. 

27th RND: * Sk 1 sc, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next sc, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * all around, join in 1st dc, cut yarn.

BACK: 
Work same as Pansy Pillow.

FINISHING: 
Sew both sections tog in back lps, leave an open­ing. 

Work lining same as Pansy Pillow.
